Vincent On

for the first time use my weber rotisseries with the ROL. the gap between my bowl and the rotisseries is huge. I had to shut all the vents and use foils around the rotisseries to keep the temp from going too high.

I seem to recall someone mention that they did a mod, turn over?

Anyone?

Vincent.

not this time with me as I was doing rib and wanted low.

Although, i may be part of the blame, I lit 13 and spread over the pile of unlit. Next time I will only lit about 8 and keep all lit to one spot.

I am missing my old wsm. I wish the price of 22 wsm would go back down. there are things i like to do at low temp.

Has someone mod it by turning it upside down and drilling holes?

Vincent.

I doubt you can get a Weber Rotis ring air tight without a lot of work.
The Cajun Bandit ring may be the way to go..
There are others on here who would have first hand experience..

well, if you want low and slow then yea, you will have to close the gap. i got some stove rope but have never used it. turn what over and drill holes for what ?

George,

I was reading here somewhere that someone turn over the rotisseries for better seal between it and the bowl. drilling new holes for on the rotisseries.

I may have mis-read the info. I'll see if I can find it.

So how better fit is the cajun bandit to a 22 bowl?

Vincent.

ok, did a search and found some information on cajun rotisseries bundle kit.

Anyone want to buy use one time weber rotisseries kit. I think the model is 2290.

Vincent.

Unless you feel you must slow smoke indirect with the EZ-Que or Weber rotis rings there is really no need to seal the gaps between the ring and the kettle.
To me the gap is what I want to maintain effortless indirect grilling temps @ 275-350*.

I use the Cajun Bandit ring primarily on the WSM, but if you want that tight seal, you will get it on the kettle - the only drawback (for me) is that you are closer to the heat source as the CB ring is shorter than the Weber & EZ-Que.

Its not that big of a deal.

No, I am making do until I get my 22 wsm. I saw the price on the cajun pimp kit, but for $200 + $35 to ship i'll pass.
