Well I got burnt out looking for a new grill, particually with the high prices. I checked Facebook marketplace and liked what I saw with an excellent shape Weber Genesis Silver A with doors. I'd picked up some good info in this forum from search results. Brought that home along with a nice Weber cover, new flavorizers and a full tank of LP, all for $135 (pic attached). I disassembled it and used simple green and a powerwasher. Didn't appear to need paint but I'll pull the bottom casting eventually and check the frame. The burners had been replaced and were in good shape. Ended up buying a warming rack. grease tray with liners and new ignitor system.
I liked the design, lower used cost and parts availablity so much, I began a search for some three burners. I ended up with three more for a total of $150, of which one was a black top silver B parts grill for $25. I may start a refurb thread eventually about the large frame Genesis Gold with two sides and flip up tables
, along with a small frame Maroon top Siver B with two flip up tables
I appreciate the detail and combined information of the restoration guides on the forum. This helped greatly and I have all three extra grills pulled apart to start the Gold and Maroon top projects. I have parts and the correct Rustoleum paints ordered.
Bonus picture is what I understand to be a unicorn, a $100 natural gas Maroon top Platinum with stainless tables, which recently sold quickly and I was second in line.
