Checkered Pig in Danville Va is owned & operated by Tommy Houston of BBQPitmasters Fame & is also the Pitmaster of a team by the same name. Great Menu , mid range pricing but very good BBQ. I have yet to go there and have dry BBQ or overcooked BBQ. They serve Chicken, Ribs, Pulled Pork and Brisket. The sides are typical BBQ sides but I recommend the Mac & Cheese & the onion rings are killer.
The ribs are my go to dish as I just love a good rib, they come dry rubbed with Checkered Pigs sauces at the table. The Mild & hot sauces are my favorite. The restaurant is always clean and well kept. The staff has always been friendly.
My dad goes there just for the desserts but I always have to get them to go.
I recommend if you are close to Danville Va or their Location in Martinsville Va go give them a try.
