Does your kettle have three daisy wheel vents in the bowl, or the ash sweeps controlled by the lever?
If it has the sweeps and lever, you can buy the current ash catcher from Weber or a reseller that stocks parts, and install it. The age of your kettle will determine how involved a process this is.

I used the hose clamp method on our 1985 kettle.
