Ugliest Weber Kettle Ever?

A worthy endeavor. I got a Silver that was painted flat black over the enamel. Took a few razor blades and time but it all came off. It looked so much better even with a little fade that it had.

Kelly
She’s ugly with good bones for a 23 year old grill. Kettle will clean up and be a great cooker.

Did kettle come with the ash pan assembly? It’s the old style with the cross bar bracket.

I’m looking forward to seeing pictures of her cleaned up and grilling.

Will you be using paint stripper and a razor blade for cleanup? Looks like a fun RRR project.

Cheers and thank you for sharing your kettle rescue!

The ugliest kettle I have ever seen has nothing "wrong" with it - and in fact, is a grail for many collectors.
I have never seen it in person, only online, but I think that meat-cut grill is just UGLY. Sure, if I ever came across one, I would
grab it - but only to pass on to a collector. I would not want that thing hanging around with my beloved kettles. LOL
To each, their own!

YOUR new grill, on the other hand, is not ugly - it just has not yet fulfilled it's potential. Can't wait to see your after pictures!

Here is my ugly blue “C” code 22” kettle.

All leg sockets were broken off and grate hangers were nonexistent. I used two donor legs socket from a black kettle and one blue socket. I fabricated four new grate hangers.

Old blue is now a cooker. I use it for vortex cooks, kettle Pizza and with my CB roti.

Most people would have thrown Old Blue away.

Awesome clean up on the red kettle. Is it a Gen 1 MT.

What a great score on the green Gen 1 MT. Is that your first green kettle?

Congrats on both kettles. Thanks for sharing.

cheers

RJ - yes the red one is a Gen 1 MT. I had other green kettles come and go over the years, but none in this nice of condition. Looking forward to finishing the redhead soon.
