Okay, I got a very large bottle of seasoned salt for Christmas and have just been using a doctored up version as needed but once it ran out, it was time to make my own. I've messed around with this for awhile and have finally cracked the code. Here it is....
3T Kosher salt
1T Cumin
1T Paprika
1T Onion Powder
1T Garlic Powder
Black Pepper (to taste but I'll go about 1T)
Cayenne Pepper to taste (mileage may vary)
Makes enough for two roasts.
I've tried a lot of different ones from various books but have settled on this. In hindsight, I'm a little surprised it was so few ingredients for the rub.
(also good on brisket, I just go heavier on the heat)
Enjoy and let me know if you have tweaked it.
