too many racks ? not enough space on a one touch ?

So I face the dilemma of smoking ribs for 6 adults on one singe one touch. Of course, I'll have to push all the coals to one side for indirect heat and may not even have a thermometer which complicates matters further. I was going to employ skewers to help with space, but how many racks can I do on a one touch ?

Simon... would a rib rack help? I have one that holds five plus I can "lean" a couple on each end.

i'm thinking I will go the route of smokenator and a hover grill.

I just don't know how many rack to put on top of the hover grill ? or do I place 'em all on the hover grill.

i've seen picks of folks that just stack the ribs. they are staggered so some part of them is getting smoke. etc. then they are rotated every half hour or so. they came out just fine.

I use the setup in the "Bluesmoke" link. The only thing I did differant was, I used longer Carrige bolts and no acorn/cap nuts cuz that's what I had on hand. It also allows for differant hight ajustments. With it I can get 5 large rack of Spares on them with no problem.

Here is another option for you to consider- a Big Green Egg Raised grate. It has flip up sides and folds flat for storage. I use it alot!
