Thermoworks Dot Black Screen

I'm doing some buckboard bacon today and after a few hours in full sun my screen turned black like a broken etch & sketch.
I've had this for 5-6years and never had that problem before. I checked Thermoworks Troubleshooting and FAC and didn't notice any warnings.
Good new is once I moved it to full shade it slowly came back in about 15 mins.
Anyone ever had something similar happen?

Nature of LCD in extreme heat and sun

I should of remembered that. Normally I use the stand but this time I laid it flat on my metal performer table.
I think the combo of hot sun ( beating down )and the heat from the table ( beating up) caused this to happen.
