My Genesis Junior project was missing the swing table entirely, so I began to ponder ways to McGyver one. I picked up a parts grill with the swing table, so I don't need to finish the McGyvering. But I played around anyway. I had some hard brake line in my garage, so I played around with it and got it to the approximately shape of the support arm. Once I get the Junior back together, I'll see if it's strong enough. In the meantime, below is a pic with the support arm's dimensions in case anyone needs to make one out of rod stock or something else. As far as attachment bits for the McGyvered one, I found a piano hinge on McMaster that I thought might work depending on the diameter of the rod. (Use one half of the hinge for the support rod and the other half for pivot). As a less elegant solution, butt hinges would probably also work.
