All,
Recently purchased a Summit S-420 and I have to be honest I really like Weber products but a little disappointed. When I lift the hood to oil the grates for example and then close again, the temperature guage drops easily 80 degrees (it appears the stainles steel hood that isn't covered by the heat shield is the culprit) but then regains that temperature within a few moments. However, overall, I can control the heat pretty well at most levels but this seems very starnge. I do notice that the when lifting the hood it is much lighter then lifting a similar hood on an E-420 (I attribute to that one because it is covered by porcelain vs. stainless steel).
Also, the side tables seem to get very hot when cooking (something I didn't experience with my Vermont Castings old grill).
Thoughts? Any advice or is this common? Thanks in advance.
