What is the best way to clean off all the stuff that gets burnt on to the firebox surface:
I've tried using a plastic razor blade. It gets some of it off but usually breaks when trying to get the stuff that is really stuck.
Is there any chemical that would be safe for that surface?
I thought of using a metal putty knife but that seems like it would scratch the finish off the firebox given that it already has scratches from the plastic razor blade.
The manual just says to use soap and water but I doubt that will help given how burnt on this stuff is.
