Stainless Steel Question

My 2004 Genesis Gold B lid had some scratches. I think I made a mistake by using a scotch brite pad. I did remove the scratches, but this produced a deeper more pronouced grain in the suface. Any suggestions to get back the more satin-lie factory finish? Thought about wetsanding using 600-800 grit sandpaper, but would appreciate any tips before I start. Thanks in advance. Paul

I'm not sure what the finish is, is it porcelain enameled?

Oh, my bad, it's stainless! I'll let more expert stainless people chime in ...

Paul, my Gold B came with a TON of swirled scratches on the stainless lid, thanks to its previous owners.

I was going to give these steps in the video a try: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOmUran35dE

I guess go *with* the grain to get the scratches out, and don't use a back and forth action.

What I like about that video is that the guy's not out to sell you anything, his company manufactures stainless range hoods.
