Spitmate anyone?

They look very good and you can, as you mentioned, multi-purpose them. There is a similar product in the USA that I am thinking about for both roasting coffee and for making chocolate. I am not so sure about how well they will work for scallops and wings since I envision those foods bouncing around and beating themselves up in the process of cooking. But you may have a better idea how to approach using it for those items.

If you use them for roasting either coffee or cacao, you need a controllable source of heat. Some folks adapt propane gas grills for that purpose. Kind of the first time I've actually considered getting a propane "grill" though we use propane for our kitchen cook top and stove here in the Philippines daily.

Yep, they have the rib-o-lator on the spitmate site linked above. I also just love the "beer holsters" and I think I know some people who would wear these

There are a couple of them, one is offered on eBay by "Metal Craftsman" in various sizes and another is offered by RK Drums. Both are definitely more expensive, I think though I haven't sat down and compared all the technical details in terms of size, rotisserie requirements and so forth. I am considering one, with a finer mesh screen for smoking sea salt.
