Sp-310 Cleaning?

Had my SP-310 for a little over 2 weeks....and so far very happy.

The hood is SS and on the lip just below handle, brown grease residue is starting to form. I don't want to scratch the SS surface to remove.

Can anyone recommend a cleaner that has worked for them? Hot soapy water not working.

I use (what my wife calls baby-bum-wipes) not sure what the proper name is but those baby wet-wipe thingies. They clean really great, at least as good as I want to clean. It is just an outdoor BBQ grill, after all.

For external grease clean up I used a product called Simply Green, I use the same stuff to clean my bicycle chain.
 
100% agree with the recommendations of Simple Green and Bar Keepers Friend. I also have a stainless hood, and one other thing I find helpful is to wipe any pesky residue off with a moist paper towel while the hood is still somewhat hot after a cook.
