Some help on a therm I found

I am looking to mod my "extra" WSM that will be spending the summer at my parents lake house (I grabbed one for $25 off CL for just this purpose.)

I plan to put a therm in it so I don't have to deal with taking the Stoker or other gadgets with me when I go up there and want to cook.

I found this thermo at grainger for CHEAP. Am i missing something? Will this do what I need? I figure I don't need anything fancy since this is my extra

At 2" the dial is a bit small, and I would be sure that the range is indeed up to 550, since the picture shows it only to 250 (in the catalog not everything is pictured, but on the web it should usually be accurate).

The therm I got for my WSM was also from Grainger: 1NFY7. About 5 times the price of the one you found.

I found that it's a good idea to make sure your therm can be calibrated. If not, take it off for the winter if it might get exposed to prolonged sub-freezing temps.
