SmokeFire EX6 Temps by Cooking Grate (Upper/Lower)

I've had an EX6 for nearly three years, but rarely use the upper rack. My last cook I used both the upper and lower racks and put a temp probe on both out of curiosity to see what the difference would be. With the grill set to 225, the probe on the lower level stayed pretty close to 225 and the upper probe hovered slightly above 300. Just curious if this typical difference people see on their SmokeFires between the upper and lower grates. It's kind of nice to have a hotter zone up top.

I was just the opposite, as cooked almost exclusively on the upper grate. And I did this mostly because the upper grate would cook hotter therefore using less pellets to cook at my desired temp. Also made it much easier to deal with drip pans on the lower grate when needed.

I simply use upper grate because it's easier to use. Allows me to slip a drip pan in there without interrupting the air circulation, easier to manipulate heavy cuts like a whole brisket or shoulder as well. IDK if it necessarily "cooks" differently. Never paid any attention to that. Simply a convenience item to me

Just by looks you can see my right and upper right both cook hotter.
Two racks of loin back up top and two spares below.
