Smoked Ham & Pasta Salad

I was searching for a mac salad to use with some leftover ham shank and this one had 5 stars.

1 (16 ounce) package small seashell pasta ( I used mini Farfalle)
1 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup distilled white vinegar ( I used white whine vin)
2/3 cup white sugar (I used 1/4 c)
2 1/2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 large Vidalia onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
1/4 cup grated carrots
1 pound diced cooked ham

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta, and cook until al dente, 8 to 10 minutes. Drain past, but do not rinse. Let stand 5 minutes.
To make the dressing, combine the mayo,vin,sugar,mustard,salt, and pepper in a bowl. Set aside.
Combine the onion,celery,bell pepper,carrots, and ham in a large bowl. Stir in the dressing. Add the pasta and toss gently to blend all ingredients. Chill at least 4 hours before serving.
