Side tables on Q 120

After lots of research, I finally decided the Q100/120 fits what I need. I was set on a Spirit, but it's just not feasible with my needs right now. I need something I can store inside and is easy to set up. I use a Smokey Joe for my charcoal needs right now, and I'd really like a gasser to do quick grills during the week, and when its raining (like tonight )

I'm torn between the 100 and 120 though. Do you find yourself using the side tables often? Are they sturdy enough to hold a plate, tools, etc? I don't care about the thermometer in the lid, because I think its kind of pointless. Only temp that counts is really at the grate IMO, especially on a gasser with one burner.

Basically, is the 30 dollars extra for the 120 worth it, or is the 100 just fine?

Go the Q120, thermometer and a little higher lid plus the side tables. Both cook the same, but you have a few more options with the Q120 which you will appricate in the life of the Q....

As a 120 owner, I also vote for the 120. The side tables can't support a ton of weight, but they are handy and you can hang your tools from them. I enjoy the thermometer a lot for knowing hot hot the grill is and when it's fully preheated. It also tells me if the gas has ran out. Also-- don't discount the electric start on the 120. It makes lighting a much more enjoyable experience.

i saw a q120 at the store today and was surprised by how strong the tables felt. most likely due to the small size but i wouldn't have one without those tables.

Well I ordered the Q-120 yesterday. Seems like it will fit my needs well. Just didn't make sense to go all out for a Spirit or Genesis right now. Looking forward to being able to grill every day now. During the week, charcoal just isn't something I want to mess with.

Well that was quick! Arrived just a few minutes ago.

Was a little disappointed with the Weber packaging on this model, seems to have shifted around in the package quite a bit. The right side hinge for the lid had been hit pretty hard I think at one point, almost went through the box. All looks good though. Gonna try and test it out tonight.

look closely at the hinge area. if you see any damage call weber. do not wait long to do this and for sure register that now !
so we are all waiting for pics now !

Congratulations on the new Q. I recently picked up a used Q100 from CL for 30 dollars. I quickly added the hose to use full size propane tank and the rolling cart. I am still considering the side tables, but I'm not sure if I really need them. I may still add a thermometer from the 120. So far I really love this little grill. It allows me to have a grilled meal soon after getting home from work on weeknights when I don't want to mess with my OTG.

Enjoy your new grill! What will your test meal be?

Just tested it with some standard Ball Park hot dogs I needed to get rid of.

WOW! This thing heats up fast, and that grate is pretty awesome. I would have definitely missed these tables though, good call there!
