Searwood open lid searing

hi,
has the searwood with open lid the same "performance" on searing than the smokefire ex4 with closed lid?

I think that they would offer similar performance. When I sear on the SmokeFire I typically keep the lid down unless I'm flipping something over. The blast of heat with the lid open is crazy.

thanks for the reply.
i also close the lid when searing. except when friends are around, then i sear with my charcoal grill with open lid ...or directly on the rapidfire chimney starter with the round sear-grate, for the show/feeling
