Sealing the Door

I notice that the access door allows smoke to billow out when it the cooker is first lit so I assume heat escapes during the cook. I was thinking about either replacing the door a Cajun Bandit but it is pretty new still so I was thinking about sealing it with this Tape. Does anyone have experience with something similar or should I even be worried about it

Honestly, I dont have the tighest door by any means. just bend it to fit as close as possible and dont spend another second worrying about it

Until I finally got the adjustment to my door correct on my 18.5 by bending it, I simply just put the door on upside down. I still lost a little smoke, but it works. I wouldn't be putting tape on it, but thats me. Good luck Mark.

If you registered the wsm with Weber, they will send you a new door. I just got a 22.5 and the door is way out on both sides of the latch. I will attempt to bend it but they are willing to sen d a new one so good.
