Okay I have Two performers one is SS and the other is the newer plastic thing. I also have a side table made out of same plastic stuff for my 22 inch silver. How hot of items can i place on each of these. For example can i set my smoker lid on it while playing with food... or can i put a hot sauce pan on it after taking it off the burner of my gasser. Just wondering and dont want to try before i here opinions. Thanks

Well, I can say this, on my Platinum, with the "plastic" side table, small pieces of lit lump will definetely leave a mark !

If I'm going to set something hot on my table I will use a cutting board just in case.
