I just finished an S-420 refurb, but have a question about the door handles. Mine are chipping. Anybody ever take them off and spray paint them? If so, what did you use and what color. New ones ( amazon are $70/pair) dont think its worth the investment. Thanks in advance.
 
I wondered about that myself. I haven't tried yet, but interested to hear what you end up doing and how it turns out

Hi Mark,

Assuming they are silver colored…

Remove handles from doors
try to remove as much of the loose coating as possible.
Sand with a very fine grit
Paint with Silver Metallic spray paint
 
Kind of what I was thinking. I have 0000 steel wool which should clean them up. If u have a link for what spray paint u used ( or recommend) I’d appreciate it. Thanks for the reply. I’ll send some pics of before/after.
 
I have used that Rustoleum product in that and the hammered finish for outdoor furniture. Looks good and holds up.
