Rusting?

Has anyone drilled for an eyelet opening and Not coated metal with high heat paint? Are you getting any kind of rusting? I just drilled out one of the top grate holes to a 3/8" to accommodate a lamp pipe (threaded rod) for my probes. I would like to know if it’s a MUST to paint it.

Bob,while the opening will gunk up,it's best to paint it. Better safe than sorry!

Thanks Phil, I guess the $6 can of high temp paint is worth it considering all that is invested in it.
