Rotisserie: trying to retrofit older Genesis kit to a Searwood

I have a new Searwood 600 (not XL).

I have a rotisserie kit for my old Genesis (Model No. 86631001, bought in 2016 just before a model change).

Google AI says the roti kit for current Genesis will fit the Searwood, but the kit for my older Genesis will not.

I put my old spit rod on the Searwood, and it seems to fit perfectly. I put my old mounting bracket on the Searwood, just to see, and AI was right. It does not put the motor in the right spot.

I guess the only fly in the ointment is the geometry of the bracket. I'd like to buy just the correct bracket and not a whole new kit. It looks like Weber doesn't sell just the brackets (but maybe they would if I called; have not tried yet).

I asked AI "Is there a mounting bracket that will make the rotisserie kit from my 2016 Weber Genesis fit a weber Searwood 600?" AI said: "A universal rotisserie mounting bracket may work, but it's not guaranteed to fit perfectly and securely."

I see various aftermarket "universal" style brackets. Has anyone bought one that they know works in this situation?

I'm looking at one at OneGrill, who made my motor, and I'm going to email them to ask about compatibility, but I'd like real work experience if anyone has some. OneGrill Bracket

Thanks for any guidance, and tell me if I'm missing anything on my assumptions.

Maybe simply drilling larger holes in the bracket.
The holes in the bracket for the mounting bolts are fine.

I mounted the bracket on the Searwood today. It just doesn't put the motor in the right place, and it's way off, so a different bracket is necessary.

The "old" spit fits

The old bracket does not put the motor where it needs to be for the Searwood.

So I think the spit I have may work if I can just get the correct bracket for the Searwood, which will hold the motor in the right spot.

If you don't mind drilling a couple more holes in the grill you could make this work. But, if you don't want to that is understood. I think a bracket from an old school (real Genesis not a 2011 later) will work FWIW
