Replacement thermometer recommendations?

The thermometer in the lid of my Performer has crapped out. Sometimes it works and seems to be accurate and then 20 mins later I'll check it and the needle will be all the way at the bottom like the charcoal went out, when in reality it is holding temp perfectly.

Do you recommend just replacing it with the same thermometer? Or are there aftermarket ones that would be better? It's an older style performer with the thermometer in the handle as see below. I was thinking it would be cool to install a new style thermometer that is found on new Perfomers, but I was having a hard time finding a place that sells the bezel for it. Any advice would be appreciated!

You can try Weber. I got one here along with some other stuff Weber would not sell me except in a kit.

Tru-Tel makes a long stem replacement for the BGE that works perfect. It is model GT 100R.

Second on the Tru-Tel. I would recommend the largest face that will fit in your lid. This one is my favorite
