He sent me dimensions and they were all about an inch greater than those of my Spirit 700.
 
The red section almost looks like it was painted.

Sure looks like it.

Color by the badge seems painted over damage, front edge and top looks like a different red? Could be the angle.
 
That lid looks familiar. I think someone recently posted restoration pictures of their grill with this lid, which they had repainted.
