Had a prime NY strip roast about 3 pounds I picked up recently. Gave it a quick 1 hour freeze just so I could cut into some nice steaks.
I had 4 nice size steaks cut from it. Tonight’s indirect cook is going to be carne crosta strip either in steak tacos or burrito bowl dinner. Guacamole and Pico de Gallo is made. So either fried veggies in shells or rice in bowls.
Still need to decide but the toppings are done and just enjoying a few beverages first. This cut of beef looks stellar.
Final pics after dinner. It’s going to be a good one, this steak is pretty thick, looking for a finished nice 130 degree red steak.
