OTG Platinum gold

I have a 22" OTG Platinum but the table is cracked. Was thinking of making a replacement out of hardwood and using polyurithane to finish it. Has anyone done this or have any tips???

not under warranty ? i saw a wood one someplace but can't remember where. not sure about the poly cuz you do want to put hot stuff on it. maybe treat it with mineral oil like its a butcher block ?

Hardwood looks good at first but not made for weather. Poly will melt. Oil finish best. Food-safe finish like mineral oil or walnut oil will work. However if you're not going to use it as a cutting board or set a lot of food directly on it, i'd go with a durable oil finish like tung oil or the Watco oil you can find everywhere--use clear untinted. Easy to rejuvenate.

If you use any wood, don't leave it uncovered in the sun except when you're using it.
