Old grill gets a new home (pics)

Incorporating my Weber 22.5 into an outdoor table was something I've thought about doing for about a year now, included are the pictures of the process and final result. I've yet to cook on it since completion, but that's going to change real soon. Table was designed and built by myself and my pops.










 
My dad had a table similar to that when I was a kid. The only difference is it was enclosed with cabinet doors on the front for access to stored items. He also didn't have the stone on top of the table, I like that touch.
 
Tell me more about how the kettle meets the table. There seems to be something bolted or riveted to the kettle, but I can't quite make it out in the pictures...
 
I did mount some copper straps around the grill. The straps allow the grill to set above the table top thereby letting the lid sit all the way down.
