Old grill gets a new home (pics)

Incorporating my Weber 22.5 into an outdoor table was something I've thought about doing for about a year now, included are the pictures of the process and final result. I've yet to cook on it since completion, but that's going to change real soon. Table was designed and built by myself and my pops.

My dad had a table similar to that when I was a kid. The only difference is it was enclosed with cabinet doors on the front for access to stored items. He also didn't have the stone on top of the table, I like that touch.

That is like the Imperial Sequoia we acquired from my father in law. This is a picture of it. Weber shows it as a 1968 model.

Tell me more about how the kettle meets the table. There seems to be something bolted or riveted to the kettle, but I can't quite make it out in the pictures...

There are tabs welded on the outside of the kettle just like the ones that hold the grates inside.

I did mount some copper straps around the grill. The straps allow the grill to set above the table top thereby letting the lid sit all the way down.

wow, that is nice. Can you tell me more about the copper straps? Can we maybe get a picture?
