Two places that you may want to check out if you're in the NYC area:
1)Hometown BBQ in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Unbelievably good brisket, beef short rib and baby backs; Billy (the owner) also serves up chicken, wings and lamb. Their sides are also delish and they have live music most nights. Really down home, cozy feeling kind of place that smells like meat candy when you walk in. If you go, make sure you get some honey cornbread
2) Fette Sau in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Nice place they serve the usual (chicken, pork, brisket) they also put out chicken and sausages, with good sides, friendly staff; they know their way around a rib! It can get busy and the line can be long, but the 'cue is worth the wait.
