I bought a ducane affinity 4200 - am I still allowed on this board LOL?

anyone with any info on this model - please give me any helpful hints, problems , upsides, etc.... hopefully some of you like this grill!

i am picking it up on Monday 2/13- gonna burn off oils, then should i season it with some high heat oil?

Bob, welcome to the board. I don't know much about Ducane grills except that they're manufactured by Weber-Stephens so there's no reason for you not to post here!

You should definitely season your grill, especially the grates, and especially if it has cast iron grates. Like you said, high heat oil is the way to go. I would use a paper towel with canola oil or similar and wipe down the grates and heat them up to maximum at least a couple times.

thanks Dave.... yeah - I looked at the specifications of the ducane and it is similar to the weber lower-end grills.... it is as close to a Genesis as I can get right now....

i plan to burn off oils then season cast-iron grates then burn it off again - then some greasy hamburgers to reseason.
