I bought a new Weber grill last fall and I like it so much I looked on the Web and found this forum so I could post a few comments.

I started with a Weber Genesis 1100 many (many, many) years ago. It came with cast iron grates and regular steel flavorizer bars, but after seven years or so the grates and bars began to rust so I bought all stainless steel replacements. The grill was fine with the new stainless steel insides but after another ten years or so two of the wood inserts on the side table began to rot (I thought they were redwood, but maybe not) and the red enamel on the outside of the grill became discolored from heat in some places and could not be cleaned.

I had my eye on the new Genesis grills with stainless steel side tables and I kept waiting for my 1100 to die. You know how this story goes - it just never would die. Finally last fall I donated my Genesis to a charity store and bought a new green Genesis E-310 Special Edition with stainless steel grates and bars. I love it and my guests are very impressed. I think it heats more evenly across the cooking area than the Genesis 1100, but perhaps I should look for threads on this forum to see if that is correct. I also want to look around the forum to see why Weber changed the burners from left to right to front to back. I wonder if they did it to improve the evenness of heating or for some other reason.

I thought my weber kettle would be my last purchase as far as grills go. Be careful, they tend to multiply- albeit with your wallet!
