New here, trouble connecting to bulk propane

Hello all, first post for me. I am getting a surround built for my Spirit e310 on the back patio. I am trying to get it connected to the house propane tank. There is a propane jet exactly where I want the grill to be. When I connect it to the propane jet on the house, it lights but does not get hot at all. Of I turn it all the way up, all I get is a small blue flame. I am just using a 10 ft gas hose that I bought at home depot. I have a regulator on my house propane tank, so I am not using one on the hose coming from the house to the grill. Any ideas on what's happening?
 
Depends on your home's gas pressure. Your grill needs 11" WC. Have your propane guy check everything out. I have used bulk type propane in the past with no problems. I now have NG so not an issue for me. Buy you'll need your gas supplier to check things out. BTW are you hooking the propane directly to the grill or through the grill's regulator?
 
Thanks! I am hooking the grill directly to the propane jet in the wall without a regulator. My house propane tank has a regulator on it.
 
Than either the line to the grill is too small and won't deliver volume or your main regulator is set wrong. Propane should run at 11" WC that is pretty much a standard
