I picked up a very very well used 70's brown 3 wheeler that the wood part of the handle is about to fall off of. Bent.Dented. Rusted. 1/4" of goop on the grate. Why did I do it? Maybe because it was $5. Oh well... it should be good to grill a few burgers at some point. After cleaning, it only looks like it went over 30 miles of bad road instead of 40. My question is... What is the risk in bending the handle back to a semi straight position? Any proven methods for doing so?

I hope this pic works

Just a few light taps with a rubber mallet should knock the handle back in to place. I fixed my 18.5 handle that had the same problem.
