I’ve think I’ve developed my signature KC Style BBQ sauce for ribs. It also works great when used on burgers and chicken. I think it has a very nice sweet, spicy and smoky flavor. My family really loves this sauce, if you try it post a message to the board and let me know what you think. Makes about 5 cups.
Triple-S Rib Sauce (Sweet, Spicy, Smokey)
½ cup cider vinegar
½ 7 oz. can Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce (I like La Costena brand)
6 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
¼ cup molasses
¼ cup honey
¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
1 tablespoon Ancho chili pepper
2 teaspoons ground black pepper
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground allspice
¼ teaspoon ground cloves
4 cups ketchup
1. Add vinegar and Chipotle peppers in Adobo to a blender and blend on high until peppers are liquefied.
2. Combine everything in a medium sauce pot, bring to a bowl, reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Use care to avoid burning sauce when bringing to a boil.
3. Season with salt and pepper as needed.
