I’ve think I’ve developed my signature KC Style BBQ sauce for ribs. It also works great when used on burgers and chicken. I think it has a very nice sweet, spicy and smoky flavor. My family really loves this sauce, if you try it post a message to the board and let me know what you think. Makes about 5 cups.

Triple-S Rib Sauce (Sweet, Spicy, Smokey)

½ cup cider vinegar
½ 7 oz. can Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce (I like La Costena brand)
6 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
¼ cup molasses
¼ cup honey
¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
1 tablespoon Ancho chili pepper
2 teaspoons ground black pepper
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground allspice
¼ teaspoon ground cloves
4 cups ketchup

1. Add vinegar and Chipotle peppers in Adobo to a blender and blend on high until peppers are liquefied.
2. Combine everything in a medium sauce pot, bring to a bowl, reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Use care to avoid burning sauce when bringing to a boil.
3. Season with salt and pepper as needed.

I brought a copy home of your recipe and left it on the kitchen counter. The wife saw it and said I have to make this. Will let you know the results. I will make an honest attempt to follow it exactly. I'm known for getting "creative" about following recipe's

I made this and thought it was pretty good. A little too spicey. I made two containers. my daughter took one home with her. She said it was just right. Nice consistency

True it does have heat, with my wife and I like a lot. My daughter not so much, for her I cut the Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce by a little over half and it was perfect.

I'd make it again and use it for a glazing sauce on ribs. I have to make a confession. When I added the chipotle sauce I used the whole can which probably resulted in the extra heat. I just didn't want to throw that left over chipotle sauce out. Guess I'm just cheap.

It really was a good sauce

Well, I made the sauce this past weekend sans chipotle peppers. It was very good. Made a nice glaze coat for my ribs. I was lucky to have any left at the end of the day
