Mini snow getaway

The wife and I got a bit of cabin fever up here in the PNW and wanted some warmer weather.
California isn’t all that much warmer so we decided to visit our besties in Arizona and take in some SF Giants spring training.

Arizona is pretty darn nice.
Our friends just built an amazing modern ranch house and barn on 5 acres with the Superstition Mountains as their backyard view.
Not cheap by any means but apparently selling your Bay Area house goes a long way in the desert.
Anyways it’s fun seeing my ex-business executive friend trying to learn his new John Deere tractor reminding me of Mr. Green Acres.

This place is living large by my standards and I could see me juggling stuff around and becoming neighbors with our best friends once again.
Summers up north and winters down there would be really sweet.

I've been a high desert rat since the mid 70s when I lived in Albuquerque. Finally got back to the high desert here in Fallon in 2002. My limited experience with Arizona heat and monsoons is enough to keep me away.

Bob, you are not kidding about the monsoons.
My buddy is using his tractor to combat the erosion damage.
Not really a small job either.

On a business trip in 2003 or 2004 I pulled into Phoenix more than 10 hours after leaving LA. I hit the monsoon just after crossing into Arizona. Spent almost as much time parked on the shoulder as I did driving. It was 7:00 when I arrived and the temperature was 107 and rain still coming down in buckets. That formed my opinion of Arizona.
