Where are you guy's buying the small metal gromits that you use to run your temp cords through the side of your cookers?.I would get a picture for you if I knew how.

Millsy,I just run the cord under the lid. No problems.
I am worried about the cord pinching.I seem to be going through a cord every summer and thought that it was the cover!

BBQ Guru.com for the grommets... $10 delivered gets you two of em and the tool to install them..good investment... it'll prevent an expensive, inconvenient, pinched probe wire

I was looking for a solution for that problem as well when I was building my UDS. I found these conduit wire pass troughs in the electrical section at Ace Hardware. they have a rubber grommet in the center $1.50 ea.

I have 2 of them but there is not enough room between the bowl and the table on the performer.I was hoping to find the small ones that would fit. What are the small ones for anyway, that might help me track them down?

I use t-nuts with a set collar that I got from a hardware store. I took flanges off from t-nut, stuck through WSM, secured inside with set collar.

I will have to go back to the store and look again.I was there today and found nothing, maybe I will try a different store. Thanks for your help,

I had enough of the hardware store, figured I could make my own.I used the cable conection and cut off the cable just leaving the threads with a hack saw.I had a male-male conector and cut of half of it and that screws into the cable end. Then drilled out the center.Leaveing me with a perfect hole through the center for my temp wire. There is a little lip that wiil be on the outside with the threads going through the bowl, thread the cable end onto it and tighten it.I will try and get pictures if you want.I am just wondering where the best place to mount it is, front, back or middle?I hope this makes sence to everyone.

Has anyone installed one on a performer?I was wondering where the best placement would be.If it is on the back could I reach it and if it is on the front is the wire going to be in the way.
HELP

I didn't see it posted here but you can take a short stainless bolt and with a drill press, drill a 1/4" diameter hole through it lengthwise to create your own grommet for cheap or free! If you are using a stainless bolt, keep the drill slow and keep it oiled for a nice clean hole. You will have something to be proud of in the time it takes to read this!
