lump vs briquette

Hey everyone. I know this is super last minute but I was wondering if there was a reason all the cooking topics I've seen suggest using briquettes for turkey. I realized this morning I don't have any kingsford, just a bag of royal oak lump.

My thinking is that since lump burns hotter it should actually work out easier on my end to keep the temps up needed to cook the turkey, so long as I add a little extra since it burns faster.

Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated. thanks in advance everyone, and happy Thanksgiving!

I only use lump unless I'm out. The heat from both is adjustable by use of the air vents. Lump burns hotter if you let it, otherwise, its heat is just as adjustable as that from briquettes.
