Kitchen Aid Mixer add-ons in video

I think @LMichaels has a lot of experience with these mixers. I came across this video and after demoing the handle he has a few add-ons that look interesting and can supposedly extend the life of the mixer and make it a little better. Wonder if they make sense.

So, here is a machine called the K4/K4B. The precursor to what is now today the "Classic". Still 250 watts BTW. They were produced from about 1947 until 1962, when the K45 came in with an upgraded bowl lock, stainless steel bowls (instead of tinned steel) and so on. Back then all the machines (until 1975 or so) were designed to be used with DC or AC power. So they could be used on farms not connected to the grid. Hobart actually started the line with smaller machines similar in design called the 3A then 3B, then 4C.
When the K4/B was upgraded to the K45 it also went from narrower 4qt bowl to the larger 4.5qt stainless steel.
Far as that washer is concerned, I've never seen a machine "bounce" unless someone decided to try doing things to it themselves. That screw referenced is an interference thread and should stay locked unless someone messes with it. Only meant to be used if you get a new beater and need to readjust slightly. As for the spring. MEH, not needed. Even the large Commercial unit does not use or need one.
I like the handle though. Makes it "retro"
