K-mart Weber Clone

Wondering if Weber ever made grills for another company. Recently garbage picked a K-mart brand grill with an uncanny resemblance to the classic Weber bar-b-kettle. The parts were even cross compatible!

Yes, Weber made a kettle model for Sears and Kmart. The model for Kmart should have a K on the air dampers and a groove in the bowl about 3-4” from the top where the food grate sits in it.
You are correct! Looks almost exactly like a Weber except for the groove.

This peaked my interest so I looked it up. There are still 40 K-Marts in the US. Amazing.

Thanks for pictures. Legs from a donor 22” kettle will look normal on it. Looks like it will clean up well. Food grate in good condition? Here is a picture of mine, which is sitting on a garage shelf and missing the lid air damper.

I actually used the legs from it to go onto a Weber 93 kettle that I had recently picked up that was legless.
