Received my new 26.75" OTG from Amazon yesterday. When I opened there was some damage (cover bent, finish on base of grill significantly scraped, one leg bent). When I went back to Amazon for the return, I could not exchange since they were out of stock. There was also a message on the site saying there was an "issue" with their inventory on this item so they could not ship at this time. Strange. What was also strange is that there was no damage to the outside of the shipping box. It was almost like it was damaged before it was packed up for shipment.

I processed the return and shipped it back to Amazon for a refund, then ordered another from another site (aimtofind.com) that actually had a lower price. Wasn't my preference as I want to support TVWBB.com, but I didn't have a choice as we are having our big summer party in a few weeks and I need to have the grill for that. Hoping there's no issues with this one.

Anyone else heard of issues with the 26.75" OTG?

Tony- I have seen a couple posts regarding damaged goods
Have you tried Weber customer service? Ive not had to use them yet, but they have a reputation for making things right by the customers
I got mine at a local ACE Hardware . it is a big ACE store, had it for 299 plus tax, and they had it in the store one day after I called- this is always an option
good luck

Thanks Marc. Amazon is taking it back no problem so I am good. I have also had good luck with Weber customer service in the past, but this unit had so many issues I opted for a full exchange (all be it from a different website). By the way, aimtofind.com had it for $285 with free shipping.

I don't blame you Tony, I would have shipped the whole thing back also. If you would recieved it from Weber that way that is one thing, but I agree it sounded like they just boxed it up and shipped it out. Home Depot is also another source that carries the Weber line of grills. Good luck with the new shipment, and have a great party!

Tony - Amazon shipping or damaging goods doesn't surprise me. Two guitars I received from Amazon last fall arrived damaged and both were packaged in a manner not fitting for a quality musical instrument (thin guitar box in larger box with almost no padding.) After returning the first (cracked top) I only kept the second (loose back brace) as the sale price was so good and Amazon's customer service credited me back for the full repair cost w/tax.

22" OTG, Q100

Amazon isn't shipping damaged goods here knowingly - they are investigating why so many of the 26.75 was arriving with the product damaged inside a Weber-sealed box with no damage to the box.

The damage was coming from Weber.

That makes sense to me Ralph. The box I received was sealed and had no visible damage to the outside.

FYI to all. I received the replacement unit from aimtofind.com last night and it was in perfect shape. Ready to grill Friday night dinner tonight!

I just picked up a NIB 26er off Craigslist from a wholesale place. Box was in good condition. Bowl handle, bent beyond repair. Weber of course replaced it.

I think it's Weber's packaging. There is no reason a good condition box should have this kinda damage inside.
