ISO Barbecue U with Steven Raichlen Full Series

Hey y'all, quick question - Do any of you have access to any full episodes or the complete series of Barbecue University with Steven Raichlen? BBQ U was the show that helped to kickstart my grilling passion and Kettle collecting, and I've been trying to locate the full series for years now. All of Steven's other shows are readily available through PBS and/or Hungry TV, however BBQ U is still absent. In my search, I've only found a few clips on YouTube, one compilation DVD release, and seven full episodes on the American Archive of Public Broadcasting website. If anyone has access to the other 40+ missing episodes to complete the series, or at least some of them, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks in advance!

Try Ebay. I've found most my DVD collections there. Things like the full Sopranos series, the full Hogan's Heroes DVD collection and so on. Sometimes good bargains can be had

Benny, out of 4 seasons, I am missing 9 shows. (on VHS tapes) Sorry!

In my Raichlen binder I do have lists of the title of the shows and their description.

Wow, that's awesome! Even if it's not every episode, the fact you still have most of them is a big help! Maybe someday soon you could copy the footage to a digital format and upload them on either the Wayback Machine or the American Archive of Public Broadcasting? I have a list of my own on my Google Drive tracking the found episodes so we could add yours to the 7 I've found down the line. I'll try to upload the list here later since I'm currently traveling as I type this.

Hi Benny, I will have to wait until my daughter visits. I don't know how to do any of that stuff. lol
I also have 22 of his cookbooks and his novel "Island Apart" pub. 2012. Have you read that?

I haven't read Island Apart but I have heard of it! If I see it out in the wild somewhere, I may need to pick it up and give it a read. I have quite a few Raichlen books too, and I always try to look for them in thrift stores and other places. In fact, I just found a 1st edition hardcopy of The Barbecue! Bible for about $4 at a store in Chicago a few days ago! That was really cool! I also found an old Weber cookbook from 1990 there too so of course I had to pick that up XD

Good going!!!!!!! ONLY $4? I have 2 soft cover editions of that book. The first one I bought. The second one (new full color edition) I won. It has Steven Raichlen's autograph. What is the name of your Weber cookbook? I have 13 Weber cookbooks.

That particular one was called Weber Grill Out!. I've got a few other Weber cookbooks too, like the Big Book of Burgers (which I also picked up recently), Grilling with Family and Friends (a magazine from 2005), and two copies of Weber's Big Book of Grilling.

I have the 2 "Big Books......." but not the other 2 things. I hope we get to do a lot of grilling this summer and put all these books to good use. lol

Here's the list I mentioned earlier! Each of the found episodes on the American Archive of Public Broadcasting is linked below the episode name.

Hi Joan, would you care to have me digitize your VHS tapes just in time for Christmas? I've got the gear and personal interest in having these shows :-) Please private message me if so and I'll make it happen.

I used to record all those shows from PBS on VHS tapes. Now I have boxes and boxes of tapes and no player. And on today's UHD TV's I think they would look even worse than they do on an old CRT screen

At least you had the foresight to record them - I made the mistake of not doing so and I regret that now since trying to find the episodes now is, for whatever reason, like trying to break into the PBS equivalent of Fort Knox lol. Personally, I wouldn't mind lower quality as long as I could see the episodes, though with how technology is in restoring footage now, I think there would be a way to clean them up if needed. And I totally get your problem as I've got a bunch of tapes of other stuff myself but the last VHS player we had bit the dust years ago and I just never got around to getting a new one.
