Is the PitMinder good enough?

I have a competitor and a pitminder, and only use the competitor when I using two cookers. With the competitor, if you don't turn the pit temp dial down when you power up, it defaults to ramp mode. I have had occasions where I forgot and couldn't figure out why my temp is dropping. Also the pitminder will run the pit at 175 degrees which is nice for jerky, that can be done with the competitor but it is a little more complicated to set up. -RP

My wife just said I could get a Pitminder for Father's Day. I'm going to get the 10 cfm fan to go with it.

My question is, do you all recommend the extension cord to go with it? What does that really do for you?

Also, I'm getting the eyelets to run the wires through. Is there anything else that I should get? I never would have known about or found the eyelets if I wasn't reading this board!!
