Is Aluminum Grill Safe?

Your bar is only 1/20th of an inch thick, and at the thickness I would wonder when it would melt if you have
a hot fire going. Maybe thats because I remember melting the original Coors aluminum cans when I was a kid.

my step grandpa had Alzheimer's BAD.... I read somewhere that Aluminum was found in heavy concentrations in people who have Alzheimer's.

There's a lot of people that posted here that my concerns were over rated, etc, but....

The charcoal baskets, I think, are made from aluminum. I don't have or use them.

What exactly are you trying to make? The tamale pots that everyone is using are made from Aluminum..... I saw somewhere that 35 gallon barrels fit too but... Is steel an option?

Bob- I think you are right. I may have to get something a little more thick.

Clint- It is a long story and hard to explain but I am making a raised kabob rack. Steel could be an option. Do you think it is more food safe?

We cook in disposable alum pans and use them for drip trays with coals banked on both sides, so you'll be fine using them as a kabob rack.
I use a few scrap pcs of uni-strut, which was galvanized before I did a burn-off.
