After purchasing my Silver C from Craigs list I thought I was fine with the stainless steel grates, I was wrong! I was cruiseing the Home Depot and saw a big stack of PCI grates, had a couple of extra bucks so I picked the up, my gawd

I did the same thing when I bought my Silver B off CL. The PCI grates hold heat well, sear well and clean easily. They definitely were a great addition to and an improvement to the grill.

My Q220 has uncoated cast iron grates and I've just about got those nice and well-seasoned. They do a great searing and heat holding job, too.

When rebuilding my 1000 I had to make the decision between PCI and Stainless, I'm very pleased with the PCI grates. Some claim they won't last as long as the Stainless but hell, my original grates lasted about 13 - 14 years with heavy use, if these 1/2 as long I'm happy. Highly recommend.
