My family has been drinking about two gallons of sweetened iced tea per day lately. I buy a box of 100 tea bags or $2.49 - makes 5 gallons at $0.50/gallon. While I was waiting for waffles to cook this morning, I opened all the tea bags and filled little Rubbermaid containers with 20 teabags, water, and 1/3 cup of sugar and stirred and refrigerated them. That way, my kids can dump the old tea bags out of the pitcher, dump in a Rubbermaid container and then fill the pitcher with water. That way, the iced tea gets brewed faster and gets cold faster and all the unwrapping of the tea bags and the measuring of sugar is already done.
It's actually more work because of the Rubbermaids, but easier for kids.
