Curious how often and how to clean ashes from my new performer. I've used an old paint brush to push the ashes through the vents. Looking for any advice. Thx.

Does your grill not have the one touch cleaning system? Check the video Bob posted in this link for how the system is supposed to work. I sweep the blades a couple times before every cook.

if my cook didn't produce a lot of grease, i won't clean till after the second or third cook. the ash can soak up some of the grease drippings.

Every cook here. The question is how how often I need to empty the ash pan

Indeed! maybe every three for me. The ashes start spilling over, and I know its time to dump it.

About every 10 cooks in my three wheeler. I only use the front bottom vent and the ash just stores below the charcoal grate. I just flip the whole thing over a garbage can and sweep it out when I do clean it.
