Hot zones on a Genesis 1000

I picked up a Genesis 1000 a few years ago and gave it a mild restoration at the time. I've noticed it always had a "hot zone" above the back burner and especially the right corner.

What can cause this zone to be hotter than the rest? I am using cast grates and newer stainless flavorizer bars.

Did you put new burners in it?
If it has an old burner with say maybe a crack that you can't really see but it's letting out more gas in one spot it could be a hotspot that you would definitely want to fix before you possibly damage your cookbox. Or if your burners are out of adjustment and your air to fuel ratio is off on one or more of your burners this could be an issue. I would be surprised though if this had that much of an impact with the double row 13 bar deep box which has the most even heat of probably any Grill I've ever cooked on.

It's common for them to have a little "hotter" zone(s). When you do a cleaning pay very close attention to the burners. Get them really well flushed out. I use BrakeKleen (don't be concerned it evaporates with no residue), and then blow them out with compressed air. (BTW everyone should own a compressor), turn your attention to the little "ports" on the tubes. A stiff wire brush and possibly some cheap dental type picks from Harbor Freight will be a huge help here.
Now turn your attention to the manifold. Follow the instructions to clean and lube the valves kindly put up by our host and operator Chris. Also remove the orifices and be sure to thoroughly clean them. Amazing the crud that gets in there and behind them
