Is the "tube" attached to teh bottom? Seems if you lift the handle in front it might come off when rolling it.

Hi Chris, yes the bottom is attached by four short sheetmetal screws. There isn't really any reason that the bottom even needs to detach anyway, it's still very accessible. But the sheetmetal screws are very easy to remove if I need to.
