Hello from Winnipeg Canada

Hello. My name is Mike. Live is Winnipeg Canada and the weather is just turning and bbq season looks to be coming so time to introduce myself.

Started to get into bbq when the wife and I moved into our first apartment with a cheap propane bbq from Walmart when the landlord informed me that I couldn't have charcoal. Well after a couple years we bought a house in July 2013 and shortly after a one touch silver replaced the cheap propane unit the movers took (with my permission).

A year and half later I am now looking to add the smokey mountain to the kettle grill for some smoking action.

Also looking to get a Weber gasser for winter time cooking as well.

Been lurking for a awhile now and looking to becoming a more active member.

Welcome to the forum Mike. You should find a lot a valuable info here. I to was wanting a gasser and decided to get an old Genesis off of Craigslist and rehab it. Those old units are great and will give you years of great use. I just got a 96 Genesis Red Head and can't wait to get it finished. You should look at threads of people rehabbing old gassers. Just a thought. Enjoy the forum.

Welcome to the group Mike. Always nice to see another Canuck join up. You can smoke just fine on that kettle of yours. I've done 16 lb packers on mine with no problems.

Welcome Mike. Friendly Manitoba! The only time I visited Winnipeg was in February 1997, I was laid over due to an ice storm.
